Wedding Invitation

We finally sent out our wedding invitations. It was quite a project and labor of love. My father (not an artist by profession or even hobby) designed and painted each of the pieces. My uncle who owns an art gallery and framing store, scanned the images and reproduced them on canvas. Each piece of the suite had to be cut with a razor blade from large canvas sheets. It was quite a process overall but well worth the work. From piece to piece, the invitation captures elements of the Save the Date, Maine as well as what we hope to accomplish on our wedding weekend.

We picked a photograher for the wedding - the talented and oh so fun Tiffany Converse! Tiffany is located in Maine which is a HUGE bonus.

While Jon and I spent the 4th of July weekend with family in Maine, we took the opportunity to meet with Tiffany and show her the venues for the wedding weekend. During that time, Tiffany took some "Engagement" shots. The pictures may be two years late but hey - we're still engaged until September 5th!

Invitations are going out this week. Once they're in the mail - I will post pictures. All pieces in the "suite" were designed and painted by my father. It's quite the family affair as my uncle has been reproducing each piece on canvas. Stay tunned....

Wedding Website

We couldn't send the "Save the Date" video out until our website was complete.

Most of our guest will be traveling from out of state to our wedding. Because of this, it was our goal to provide them with as much information as possible (getting there, places to stay, things to do, restaurants). The details of the wedding weekend are not quite determined yet, so we left that portion of the website "Under Construction" only telling our guests to be prepared for a Friday night through Sunday celebration. And much to our enjoyment, it seems many of our guests are planning to stay in Maine longer than just the weekend.

With only 4 months to go - its off to the next task!

Wedding

So after over two years of being engaged, we finally set a date for our wedding - September 5, 2009. Yes you read correctly - a little over 4 months away! We live in New York and are planning to host the wedding in Kennebunk Beach, Maine. I spent summers in Kennebunk growing up and my parents now have a home there. Both Jon and I couldn't think of a better place to invite the one's we love.

The madness has begun.
